Farmington MO CDL Drunk Driving Defense Lawyer Bonne Terre DUI Attorney Missouri

Commercial Drivers and
Drunk-Driving Charges

It doesn't matter if you were pulled over in your own car or while you were on the job driving a taxi, a semi truck, or some other commercial vehicle. Any alcohol-related conviction could result your commercial driver's license (CDL) being revoked.

  • A first DWI ("DUI") conviction will cause you to lose your CDL for a year
  • A second DWI conviction could cause you to lose your CDL for life.

When your job and your future are on the line, you need an aggressive defense against any alcohol-related charge.

Drunk-driving cases are tough, but they can be won. Until you have talked to an attorney, you won't know if you have a defense, or if something could be done to minimize the damage, such as negotiating a plea bargain to a lesser charge.

Call (573) 431-1111 to talk to defense attorney Jack Davis at Traffic Legal Services. We fight hard to protect our clients' CDLs, jobs, and freedom.

Fight that Missouri Drunk-Driving Charge in Court

If you were pulled over by the Highway Patrol or Municipal Officer and you blew a BAC of .08 or higher, your life could be about to change.

You need to take immediate action to protect your rights, your driver's license, and your way of life.

Don't ever plead guilty to a drunk-driving charge without talking to a defense attorney first. Call Traffic Legal Services at (573) 431-1111 for a free initial consultation. See what we can do to help you fight the charges.

In Missouri, a DWI is a two-tiered process.

  • In criminal court, you are going to face fines, court costs, loss of your driver's license, and possible jail time.
  • In an administrative process before the Missouri Department of Revenue (DOR), you are facing the suspension of your driver's license, and the deadline to fight that suspension is coming up very soon—much sooner than your criminal trial.

You only have 15 days (from the date of your DWI arrest) to request an administrative hearing with the DOR. If you don't, you automatically lose your driver's license, and there is nothing a lawyer can do to help you at that point.

Contact Traffic Legal Services as soon as you possibly can—if possible, within 15 days of your arrest. Drunk-driving cases are tough, but in some instances they can be won. We may be able to challenge the validity of the police stop or the accuracy of the Breathalyzer test results. In some cases, we may be able to negotiate a plea to a lesser charge or for a shorter sentence.

The DOR administrative hearing does not allow for negotiation, however. It's all or nothing there, and you need a skilled and knowledgeable attorney to tackle that case. Defending drunk-driving cases and traffic violations is the focus of our firm.
